Description

This vintage Joanne Bird bronze sculpture titled "Sequoyah Cherokee" (pronounced Sequoia like the tree) AKA “Father of the Cherokee Syllabary and Educator.” This piece is a must-have for any enthusiast of writing, Native American culture or a passion about education and history. Signed, limited numbered, and dated 84 on the sculpture and attached to a wooden base, this powerful piece is measuring 5.5-inches high, 4.25-inches wide & 3.25-inches deep with base and weighs approximately 4 pounds. Dr. Bird, a Santee Sioux Indian is a member of the Sisseton- Wahpeton Reservation. As a painter and sculptor her pieces go for thousands of dollars. My family has used this as a decorative staue and as well as a bookend. If you have any questions, please let me know. The statue is already securely packaged and ready to send.
